Reduce the risk of buying something online only to find the published photo looks nothing like the shipped product.
Items at the market will be verified as handmade, not re-sold bulk items.
Possible Aspects
(Depending on Demand, Space, and Funding)
The focal point of the event is the artists / crafters market, but there may be demand to supplement the event with a few other possible add-ons.
Entertainment
The event may include a professional dancer/s, local musicians, or a DJ. This is contingent upon finding volunteers or sponsors to pay for these performance artists.
Food / Drinks
It may include food or drinks. This is contingent upon finding partners to manage this. A professional kitchen space is ready to service guests and there is another possibility is to invite a few food trucks into the parking lot.
Judging / Prize Award
People’s Vote – People can vote for their favourite artist or piece of work. This would be funded by a pay-to-vote, where as if you really liked that person’s art enough, you would be willing to put into their vote count with a dollar or two. The other option is that everyone votes, the ‘favourite’ artist wins anything that is put into a collective tip jar for the winner/s.
Trained Judges – A few designated artistically sensitive can judge for a favourite artist or individual piece of work. Ideally, this would be funded by a sponsor.
